The Real Deal

So you want to dress me up and stick me on your arm?
Well I've got a wake up call for you…
I am not a Rolex watch or a platinum chain
I am not a designer jacket or those brand new jeans
I am not a pair of shades or a pair of fresh high tops
I am not the latest mobile phone or I-pod or Laptop
I am not the wheels you drive in or the console you got installed

I am not your prize possession, I am no way a material prop, that you can show off to your boys, and their boys or anyone you pass.

My beauty is for one alone coz I am a Muslimah
I cover up my hair and body from all who are not close
Why should this special gift I have be shared with everyone?
I worship Allah alone and not the ground you walk on
I obey Him and the messenger and not the world around me
I don’t care what anyone thinks of me as I’m living for my Deen

But if you still want me:

I will always respect and honour you
I will support and encourage you
Loyalty is not a question as I will never deceive you
I will guard your possessions as I guard my life
I will keep you secrets locked up tight with mine
I will satisfy your every need and never hold a fight
I will listen to your problems and comfort you when you’re down
You will always have my shoulder when no one else can see you cry
I will smile with you through the good and stick by you through the bad
I will pray with joy behind you and listen to you recite
I will learn and grow besides you as we head for paradise
I will raise your children in the Deen as soldiers of Allah
I will take your hand in my hand and never let you down

I can be your superwoman; I’ll be all you ever need
But if that is not enough for you, then do not spend your time on me
Allah made me sensitive and my heart is not a toy
I can never be enough for one who doesn’t fear his Lord

All these things Allah commands of me, providing you treat me right
I can never be your trophy, only your committed wife
